Our client is seeking a Program Manager for a permanent position in Calgary, AB. The Program Manager is responsible for planning and executing program deliverables to the region.

Responsibilities:

Planning the program:

  • Plan the overall program and the activities in relation to the goals of the organization
  • Develop long term goals and implement effectively with staff to ensure buy-in
  • Create an evaluation framework to assess the program’s strengths and areas needing improvement
  • Meet all targets within a pre-determined annual budget

Operating the program:

  • Lead, motivate and coach staff
  • Work with clients to understand needs and provide recommendations based on client requests
  • Analyze market priorities and report trends that may affect the business
  • Provide standardized employment assistance services to meet the needs of the community

Maintaining the program:

  • Prepare quarterly progress reports, including year-to-date statuses of projects
  • Ensure that all programs and operations run in compliance with company policy and federal and provincial legislation

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Sciences, or Business Administration
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an employment and training role
  • Minimum of 2 years in a manager role, including supervision of staff, creation of work plans and budgeting
  • Extensive knowledge of Alberta’s labour market
  • Knowledge of Metis and Aboriginal employment is a strong asset. 
  • Occasional overnight and weekend travel within Alberta
  • Ability to analyze financial reports with basic accounting knowledge
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
